January: Lots of Milestones
Grant has all of a sudden reached a bunch of new milestones this month. On New Years Eve he started to crawl, and once that started, there was no stopping him! He's all over the place now, we have to watch much closer now that he is moving. Just a few days after that, he pulled himself up on the fireplace hearth.
And then, as if that wasn't enough for one week, just a few days after that he walked from one end of the hearth to the other (holding on of course). Crawling to pulling up to cruising all in one week! We have also started working on some baby sign language with him. He usually starts grunting or screaming if he wants more food or puffs, now he has to nicely ask for more. He's doing pretty well, though he has his own way of doing the sign, it's so cute! We are working on please now. The last few weeks have been pretty yucky though, he is getting two more teeth and has been running a low fever. On top of that, he is starting to test us more also. Please be praying that Drew and I will be able to be consistant with him and that he will respond well.

December: Lots of new toys!
Grant got tons of new toys for Christmas. I think we went a little overboard, I guess I forgot that he would be getting stuff from the rest of the family too! The good news is, I got two storage cubes that I'm using as end tables and toy boxes. No matter how much of it I hide though, our house is still overtaken by toys.

Visiting Santa
We took Grant to see Santa a couple of weeks ago. He was so funny, he just stared at him with his mouth open the whole time. I wish I could have gotten the look on his face when Santa first walked up to him, he had his mouth open and his eyebrows up, he looked amazed.

Learning So Much
Grant has learned so much this month, it's been so fun to watch him learning something new almost every day. He now says "dada" all the time, he can push himself up to sit up, and he is almost crawling. He gets up on his hands and knees and moves his knees forward and then lunges, he hasn't figured out how to move his hands and knees at the same time yet, but that is not far away!

6 months!
Grant is six months old now, how time flies! We went to the doctor on Monday and he is 27 1/2 inches long and 16 lbs. 10 oz. He got three more shots and he did really good, he is a tough little guy! He was his smiley little self and all of the nurses and staff just loved him, they couldn't get over how happy he was, even after the shots! He is a happy little boy, he smiles all the time. He is now at that age where he is starting to recognize faces and study people too. If someone takes him from mommy he just stares at them for a while before he decides if he likes them or not. He pretty much always decides he likes them! He is sitting by himself very well and enjoying tummy time much more now that he can lift himself up better and for longer periods of time. He'll be crawling in no time! Time to make sure the house is really baby proofed!

Almost There
Grant is so close to sitting up by himself. Just a couple of weeks ago he learned how to tripod (thanks Aunt Becky), and already he's balancing with very little help. He will even lean forward to grab his toy and then sit back up again. He even sat by himself long enough that I was actually able to catch a picture of it too! And on another note, the cereal is going much better too, by the way. We started mixing it with a little pear juice and now he will eat it, but only at dinner time. Maybe that is because daddy feeds him at dinner, but he would not eat very much of it this morning. Maybe on Saturday we'll experiment with daddy feeding him in the morning and see if he eats it then.

Fall Decor
Last week I got out the fall decorations. The summer went by really fast! I was excited to actually decorate this year, last year around this time I was sick and didn't feel like doing anything. It's not much, but I usually add to it every year so one day the whole house might be decorated! My favorite part is the scent, I've put out all of my fall candles so my house smells like pumpkin pie! And we just put up a beautiful picture of our sweet boy compliments of my friend Katie!

Meeting Jack and other fun in Gainesville
This weekend we went down to Gainesville to meet our newest nephew Jack. He is so tiny and sweet! Can't decide who he looks like yet though. Mimi was very excited to have all three of her grandsons together for the weekend too! Ethan loved having Grant around again. I think he is going to be a great big brother, he is so sweet to Grant. Grant was watching everything Ethan did too, it won't be long before he is following him around!

Trying Cereal
So, we began trying cereal this month. It didn't go so well as you will see in the video. We tried mixing it with breast milk, we tried rice and we tried oats, still not liking it. So, we'll try again, but for now I'm trying to make sure I remember this since I'm sure he'll be eating us out of house and home before we know it! I love how Drew tries to trick him into opening his mouth, he figures it out though of course!

Sorry, we've missed a few months!
Grant is almost 5 months now. It's gone by so fast! He's getting so big now too, over 15 pounds and 26 inches long! He really is a joy too! He's a pretty happy little boy, most of the time. He has just recently discovered that he can scream, so that is now what he does when he gets mad, which is usually every afternoon just before naptime or when he wants attention and mommy is busy. He's gone down for his nap early the last couple of days.

Two and a half months
Here are some pics of our happy little boy! We are starting to get used to things around here. The last two months have been a challenge, but a very rewarding challenge! We are all learning so much, Grant is even starting to learn how to sleep through the night! He has done it twice this week! And he has started smiling alot more lately too. Especially when he's getting his diaper changed and when he has crib time with his mobile on, he loves that thing! He's been flirting a little too, he's quite the ladies man!

Grant's first trip to Florida
A couple of weeks ago we took our first trip down to Gainesville since Grant was born. It was so great to spend time with my family and to introduce Grant to family and friends that had not seen him yet. He also got to meet his cousin Ethan for the first time! Ethan was so sweet with him, he is going to make a great big brother in September (or October). For all of the friends we didn't get to see, we will be back in a couple of weeks and Grant and I will be in town for a whole week, so hopefully we will see you then!
